Another visit to Wythenshawe #ParkRun sees our biggest turnout to date!

9 newbies joined other runners from the #MileShyClub this weekend and every single one crossed the finish line.  We celebrated their success by handing them well deserved goody bags and we were as usual made to feel very welcome from the Wythenshawe crowd.  Here are some photos from the day!

ParkRun Wythenshawe visit left us speechless with PBs and first timer impressions!

WHAT A MORNING! We brought the sunshine again! Tracy took on her first ParkRun in style! Helen, Andy, Kath....returned and GOT PB'S! (arghhh brilliant!) But absolute hats off to Jonny today. First ParkRun EVER. Says before he begins, "It would be good to try and get below 30 minutes..." Finish time? An amazing 23 minutes 20 seconds. Jonny IS AWESOME! Someone had their weetabix this morning! #mileshynomore #c25k #runninginspiration

Our second visit to #ParkRun Wythenshawe saw ALL #MileShyClub runners acquire PB's!

We brought the sunny weather again today to #ParkRun at Wythenshawe which saw an amazing turnout.  Runners from last month's Club #parkrun and newbies took to the start line and everyone finished in epic style with personal bests all round. Again, another amazing day, with a really supportive crowd.  Here at the Club we wait for everyone to finish (and give them a cheer!) Great results today which reflect the hard work of our runners.  Well done everyone. (Click on the photos below to scroll through).

Jane from the Club appointed a Mental Health Ambassador for England Athletics and MIND

We're really pleased... in fact, super-excited(!) to announce that on Monday this week, Jane at the club was appointed a Mental Health Ambassador for England Athletics. This means that Jane (and the #MileShyClub) will be working with England Athletics and the charity MIND to bring more people, particularly those with mental health issues into the sport of running. Jogging and running can help us lift our mood, increase our self-esteem, sleep better, think clearer and reduce stress, anxiety and depression. Jane herself has personal experience of mental health issues and is able to support you to start, return, or continue running in a club or group.

Everyone remembers their first run...

But sometimes taking the first step is the hardest bit.

Come and talk to us. #runandtalk

The #MileShyClub completes their first ever #ParkRun!

Runners from the club who started as complete beginners at the beginning of 2017 visited ParkRun this Saturday.  Full of nerves, the 10 hardy souls (plus one other we acquired on route!) completed their first ever 5k runs through mud, grass, and sunshine! Below are a few photos and video from the day! Amazing achievement, we can't wait until next month's outing! Thanks ever so much to Wythenshawe #ParkRun who welcomed us with open arms on the day and gave us a special mention.
