Club Welfare
People are at the heart of everything we do at the MileShyClub. That’s why we take the welfare of our members seriously. At the MileShyClub, we aim to create an environment where everyone feels safe and secure to enable them to achieve their potential - whether that be walking a mile for the first time in years or reaching a 5k goal.
Welfare covers a range of issues such as safeguarding, protecting children, anti-bullying, equity, poor practice in coaching and disciplinary and grievance matters. We have developed policies and procedures which set out the minimum standards of expectations and these can be viewed here.
We have three Welfare Officers at the MileShyClub, however, we expect everyone at the club to play a role in looking out for each other. We ask all new members at the club to agree to the England Athletics Safeguarding Code of Conduct. You can find more details about our Welfare Officers below.
