Hi everyone,
We’re really sorry to announce that we were not in the top three of charities who made it through the public vote to receive £14,000. We came fourth.
We found out the result last week but had been asked to not announce anything until today, so we have had time to digest the news already. We know that lots of you will be disappointed.
We want to thank the judges and the Manchester Marathon organisers who put us through to the top 5 from over 30 applications. We also want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for voting for us. We had nearly 1,000 votes in total, and every single one means the world to us. Thank you so, so much for your support.
The good news is that the Trafford Active Fund have given us a consolation prize of £2,000 which we are very grateful for and will be using wisely. We are currently having discussions over what to do with this money, and will let you know as soon as we have a [brilliant!] plan. If you have an idea, let us know, we’d love to hear from you!
It wasn’t our day this time round, but there will be others, so keep smiling! Well done to the winners who are awesome in their own right (Simply Cycling, Henshaws and Disability Snow Sport UK).
