Thanks so much for signing up for our Couch To 5K - we can’t wait to get you started.

Couch To 5K is a nine week program comprising of three runs - you’ll do one in session at your chosen club and then two additional “homework” sessions. You have three options for your homework runs: you can do them alone with the C25K app or a timer, you can meet other runners from your club to run together or you can join any of the other MileShy clubs that run on a different day - all clubs are at the same stage of Couch To 5K so that people can move between groups. We really encourage the second option - running with other people is SO much easier as you’ll motivate each other to keep going and you’ll be talking too much to keep looking at your watch! If you’ve opted to join the WhatsApp groups you’ll be added to your group shortly - feel free to ask for running buddies in there when we’re up and running!

Your final run of the Couch To 5K program will be a graduation parkrun - you’ll be notified of locations nearer the time. On the day you will need a parkrun barcode to take part - you can register for yours HERE.

For your first sessions please wear whatever you feel comfortable in and a pair of comfy trainers - perhaps bring a small bottle of water you can take on your run with you. As we will be running in the dark we will keep to brightly lit areas - please think about wearing a brightly coloured top if you have one. For extra safety we would recommend a head or body torch but these are not essential at this early stage.
